King Charles confirms Harry and Meghan remain non-working royals

King Charles has confirmed via a letter to senior British officials that his youngest son, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle remain non-working royals after their return to the United Kingdom. The letter, addressed to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, states that they are no longer working Members of The Royal Family since stepping down from official duties in 2020.

This position, unlike the royal duties undertaken by the working members of the royal family, allows the couple the personal liberty to maintain financial independence and the protection of their privacy. The letter emphasized that this arrangement will continue to be fully respected. The Duke and Duchess's charitable work is their personal prerogative, carried out in their private capacities.

Following their return to the UK, the royal couple has been largely absent from the public eye, with Prince Harry previously accusing the royals of neglect, the media of ruining his life, and the government of failing to provide adequate security for him to return to Britain.
