Ghanaian youngster Sam Amo-Ameyaw scores brace in Strasbourg’s big win

English-born Ghanaian footballer Sam Amo-Ameyaw left a lasting impression for RC Strasbourg as they secured a commanding 6-2 victory over Troyes in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday. The 19-year-old former Southampton player made a significant impact coming on as a substitute with 30 minutes remaining, scoring twice to contribute to the away win at the Stade de l’Aube.

Amo-Ameyaw's influence began immediately, netting a remarkable individual goal just three minutes into his appearance. He received the ball, skillfully maneuvered past three opponents, and slotted the ball into the net, instantly extending Strasbourg's lead. Troyes had taken the lead in the ninth minute through Antoine Mille, but Strasbourg swiftly regained control.

Jacob Ortega and Diogo Sousa added to the lead for Strasbourg within two minutes of each other, extending their advantage to 2-1 at halftime. Giovanni Reyna further extended the lead to 3-1 in the second half before Amo-Ameyaw completed his brace, making it 5-1 before the final whistle. Conrad Harder added another goal to the tally for Strasbourg late in the match, while Jeremy Le Douaron scored a consolation for Troyes.

The brace marked Amo-Ameyaw's season debut with two goals after three appearances. Despite representing England at youth levels, the talented winger is still eligible to play for Ghana's senior national team.
