Dubai Municipality launches 'Athar' exhibition to celebrate Emirati women's businesses, success stories

Dubai Municipality has inaugurated the Athar exhibition, an event honoring the accomplishments of Emirati women entrepreneurs and their businesses. This celebration coincides with the observance of Emirati Women's Day. The exhibition takes place at Hewi Nad Al Sheba from September 7 to 21, 2026. The term Athar, which translates to impact , encapsulates the essence of the initiative.

It embodies the UAE's ongoing commitment to empowering women across diverse sectors. The exhibition showcases Emirati women's talents, enterprises, and success stories, providing them with a platform to reach broader segments of society. Athar unites small and medium enterprises, as well as home-based businesses, within a unified community setting that integrates entrepreneurship, learning, and entertainment.

This fusion aims to provide participating businesses and homegrown talents with space to display their creativity, while simultaneously connecting with fresh audiences. A variety of workshops tailored for different age groups are scheduled as part of the exhibition. These interactive sessions cater to children, adults, women, senior citizens, and People of Determination.

They encompass areas such as fashion design, perfume making, handicrafts, woodworking, and other creative disciplines. An exclusive perfume-making workshop for senior citizens is also being conducted in collaboration with the Community Development Authority. Eman Al Falasi, Chairperson of the Dubai Municipality Women's Council, emphasized that Athar offers an integrated community platform that amalgamates entrepreneurship, learning, and familial experiences.

She further stated that the exhibition provides participating businesses and home-based enterprises with a platform to exhibit their creativity and products to wider audiences. Simultaneously, it offers visitors an engaging recreational and educational experience. Eman Al Falasi asserted that investing in women's capabilities is akin to investing in the nation's future.

Through Athar, the Dubai Municipality aims to underscore the impact of Emirati women's contributions and enhance the visibility of their businesses and talents. This endeavor supports their role in fostering a more prosperous and sustainable society and aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. Athar is accessible to visitors from 5pm to 10pm on weekdays and from 5pm to 11pm on weekends.

By combining entrepreneurship, learning, and community participation, the exhibition underscores the ongoing contributions of Emirati women to their communities, while simultaneously creating novel opportunities for local businesses and talents to reach wider audiences.
