Düsseldorf – The DAX index closed slightly lower on Monday, marking a 0.3 percent decrease at 25,973 points. The decline was expected as U.S. stock markets were closed for the "Labor Day" holiday, leading to fewer significant movements throughout the day. The index had previously closed at 26,046 points on Friday, remaining almost unchanged from the previous day.

After three consecutive losing days at the beginning of the previous week, the index had stabilized slightly over the weekend and managed to break above the 26,000-point mark for two consecutive days. However, it remains uncertain whether the leading index will stay above the 26,000-point threshold this week. While investors had initially managed to shake off concerns over geopolitical and monetary uncertainties, the situation appeared fragile.

Analysts noted that signals suggesting potential relaxation in the Middle East had reappeared by the weekend, but this time, there were retaliatory attacks between the U.S. and Iran in the Hormuz Strait. Consequently, investors' focus remains on the persistently high oil prices, with growing concerns about a prolonged disruption in oil supply from the Middle East.
