Bayi 4 bulan meninggal di taska

A four-month-old female infant died after being found unresponsive at a taska in Bandar Al Muktafi Billah Shah, near Dungun, Terengganu, local police chief Nik Ab Halim Nik Mat reported. The police received the report at 3:41 pm, and based on the initial investigation, the victim's mother had brought the infant, who appeared healthy, to the taska around 8 am.

About 10 am, the taska staff found the victim unresponsive, believed to have fallen asleep after being fed. The infant was then taken to Durian Mas Health Clinic before being referred to Dungun Hospital. Despite medical efforts, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the victim was pronounced dead around 12:45 pm. Initial examinations did not reveal any significant physical injuries.

However, the exact cause of death remains to be determined, and a post-mortem examination is planned. Two caregivers present during the incident have been identified, and their statements will assist the investigation. The police are also collecting statements from the victim's parents and witnesses, as well as obtaining medical reports.

The police will open an inquiry under Section 31(1)(a) of the Children's Act 2001 to determine if any negligence or failure occurred while the victim was under taska care.
