Anschläge: 21 Sprengsätze an Stromleitungen in Sachsen entdeckt und entschärft

In southeastern Germany, the police have discovered nine more homemade explosive devices near high-voltage power lines south of the Graustein substation in the vicinity of Schleife (Görlitz district). These were defused by specialists from the State Criminal Office of Saxony (LKA), according to the LKA. This brings the total number of explosive devices found in Saxony to 21.

The Public Prosecutor's Office of Dresden, the State Criminal Office of Saxony, and the Police Directorate of Görlitz continue to appeal for public assistance in ongoing investigations. On Saturday, the police and the Public Prosecutor's Office of Dresden had already announced the discovery of twelve explosive devices in the Lausitz brown coal region near the border with Brandenburg.

These were intended to cause damage to high-voltage electrical lines by short-circuiting, according to the police and Public Prosecutor's Office of Dresden. No damage to the power grid had occurred, and no danger to the public was stated. Investigators are intensively pursuing an individual suspected of carrying out sabotage against the German power grid. The incidents are concentrated in North Rhine-Westphalia, Brandenburg, and Saxony.
