Actress Temitope Osoba for burial in Ogun Thursday

Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba will be buried in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, on Thursday, September 10, 2026. Her family announced the burial details in an obituary released on her Instagram page on Monday. Osoba's body will leave the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, at 9 am. The burial service will take place from 10 am to 11 am at Akesan Club, situated opposite Iperu Morning Market, Iperu Remo.

The interment will occur immediately after the burial service at the Iperu Remo Cemetery ground, with the dress code instructed to be white. Osoba, also known as Tope Osoba, passed away in early August 2026 at the age of 40. She was a Yoruba-language actress and producer who had been active in the Nigerian film industry for nearly two decades.

Her notable works include Oogun Mi. In the past, Osoba battled breast cancer for about two years before her death and sought help for treatment and surgery. The circumstances surrounding her death remain disputed, with conflicting accounts from her fiancé and family members. PUNCH Online reported that her fiancé claimed she died after being taken to a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos, while relatives provided a different account of her final hours.

This discrepancy has led to calls for an investigation and autopsy to establish the truth about her demise. The family has warned against the spread of unverified claims and urged the public and media to rely on official statements. Initially, the burial was scheduled for August 13 in Iperu Remo but was postponed indefinitely. The revised burial date is now set for Thursday, September 10.
