US envoys set for Ukraine talks after meeting Putin in Russia
Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are set to land in Kyiv on Sunday, having "discussed substantive plans for next steps" with Putin on Saturday.
MOSCOW, Russia, Sep 6 — Two senior US envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are preparing for crucial talks in Ukraine after meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow to discuss ending the war, according to US officials. Their visit to Kyiv, set for Sunday, marks their first trip to Ukraine's capital by Trump's top negotiators.
The talks follow Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's agreement to cease strikes on each other's capitals for three days, a development that has come as US and Russian forces clash in recent months.
