A whistleblower has released audio recordings of a conversation between Democratic Party of Korea's Vice Chairman Kim Jae-hyun and former Prosecutor General Lee Jae-myung discussing the "illegal pre-clinical trial approval plan" of Kim Sung-woon, the candidate for the Ministry of Public Prosecution. Kim Jae-hyun criticized the situation, saying, "Kim Jae-myung and I are in the same boat, just like Kim Jae-myung and I are in a similar predicament."

Kim Jae-hyun further explained that 15 prosecutors had investigated Kim for three years, and if there were any wrongdoing, they would be prosecuted, but it was still unclear who would be punished. The footage has sparked debate among politicians and citizens, with some accusing the whistleblower of 'political showmanship' and attempting to manipulate public opinion.
