Saudi Arabia, 7 countries condemn Ben-Gvir’s calls for forced Palestinian displacement, Gaza settlements

The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and seven other Arab and Muslim nations have voiced strong condemnation of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir's calls for the forced displacement of Palestinians from their land and the establishment of settlements in the Gaza Strip. In a joint statement, the ministers from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye described Ben-Gvir's proposals as provocative and a direct violation of international law, including humanitarian law, and a threat to the Palestinian people's rights.

They reaffirmed their firm opposition to any displacement of Palestinians, both individually and collectively, within and outside the occupied territories. The ministers warned that turning such calls into policy or action would undermine international peace efforts, especially US President Donald Trump's comprehensive plan to end the conflict.

They emphasized that the Gaza Strip is part of the occupied Palestinian territory and called for an end to illegal settlement activities in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. The ministers stressed that achieving a just and lasting peace requires implementing the two-state solution, with an independent Palestinian state established along the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international resolutions.

They urged the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to uphold their legal and moral duties and condemn these extremist calls. The foreign ministers concluded by urging immediate action to prevent attempts to alter the region's geographic or demographic reality and to respect international law, reaffirming their support for the Palestinian people's right to remain on their land.
