Putin attends launch of Moscow Metro’s new line as one station displays ‘special military operation’ imagery

Moscow's newest Bulvar General Karbysheva Metro station, inaugurated on September 5 as part of the city's 17th line, Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya, carries imagery related to the ongoing "special military operation." One station exit bears the inscription "Engineer Troops," with "Special Military Operation" scrawled beneath it. Within the station, bas-reliefs depict the abbreviation "SVO," an "Honorary Specialist of the Engineer Troops" badge, as well as images of drones, military gear, and uniforms.

The opening ceremony was attended by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and President Vladimir Putin. The new line comprises five stations: Delovoy Tsentr and Shelepikha, previously part of the Big Circle Line, alongside Zvenigorodskaya, Narodnoye Opolcheniye, and the newly opened Bulvar General Karbysheva.
