Police confirm shooting of wanted drug suspect in Seremban housing area

Seremban, Sept 6 — The local police have confirmed that a man suspected of drug offenses was fatally shot in a residential area of the Garden Homes estate early today. Negeri Sembilan's top cop, Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, stated the incident occurred at 1:50pm. Additional information will be released by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department at the Seremban District Police Headquarters later today.

The 50-year-old suspect had eight prior convictions for drug and criminal offenses, and was also sought in a case under the Kidnapping Act. A resident, identified only as Ali, 72, recounted that he was indoors after prayers when a neighbor alerted him to the gunshots. Upon exiting, he observed numerous police cars surrounding the scene, with the road blocked by police tape.

This marks the first time such an incident has taken place in this neighborhood, and residents expressed concern for their safety if a similar event were to occur again. A week ago, locals had noticed several unidentified vehicles parked near the area at midnight.
