Plane With Amazon Signage Crashes At Miami International Airport—‘Multiple Vehicles’ Struck

An Amazon cargo plane veered off a runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday, colliding with several vehicles and igniting in a fiery crash that necessitated the closure of all runways at the airport. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the aircraft exceeded the runway length around 2 p.m. after departing from San Juan, Puerto Rico and heading towards Florida.

The Prime Air plane came to a halt adjacent to a road, alongside two stationary semi-trucks, as captured in photographs circulating on social media. Despite the blaze, the plane remained largely intact. The National Transportation Safety Board has stated they are "collecting data" about the incident. Amazon has not yet responded to inquiries concerning the matter.

It is currently unknown if any individuals sustained injuries as a result of the crash. All runways and taxiways at the airport were consequently closed, and a ground stop was implemented, meaning all flights were halted and the airport effectively ceased operations. The FAA anticipates delays following the airport's reopening, with a reduced number of arrivals and departures.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reported that the plane had struck multiple vehicles following its overrun of the runway. Emergency responders arrived on the scene to find the aircraft engulfed in flames. Sixty units from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue were present at the scene attempting to control the fire.
