RIYADH — Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Tuwaiyan, a senior adviser at the Office of the Minister of Interior, emphasized that security has been a fundamental pillar of Saudi Arabia for three centuries. Speaking at the Security and History Dialogue 2026 conference in Riyadh, Al-Tuwaiyan highlighted the event's emphasis on the intricate relationship between security, history, and development, asserting that development is intrinsically linked to security and stability.

Al-Tuwaiyan pointed out that security in Saudi Arabia is not a fleeting concern but a steadfast policy upheld by Saudi imams and kings through the generations, extending from the reign of King Salman, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to the current leadership under Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. He expressed gratitude to the Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, for his continued support, which he claimed had enhanced the conference's content and broadened its scope.

This year's conference, themed "Our History and Our Future: Security and Development," aimed to explore the multi-faceted connection between security, history, and the Kingdom's progress. Over 160 Saudi, Arab, and international speakers participated, delivering more than 60 panel discussions and interactive sessions that covered an extensive array of subjects related to the Kingdom's security and development.

The Interior Ministry's collaborations with various research, scientific, academic, cultural, and media institutions were also underscored, with these partnerships enriching the exhibition through the inclusion of rare historical documents and exhibits. More than 4,000 attendees were expected to participate in the conference, immersing themselves in sessions, the exhibition, and the display of historical artifacts, all designed to offer a comprehensive and engaging experience.

One of the conference's primary objectives was to acquaint Saudis with their nation's narrative, described by Al-Tuwaiyan as an inspiring tale filled with pride. He stressed that the conference sought to bolster national awareness and identity, fostering a deep sense of pride and belonging among the attendees.

Al-Tuwaiyan underscored that Saudi Arabia's legacy dates back three centuries, marking its state as a pioneering nation since its inception. He affirmed that the Kingdom's current stature is deeply rooted in its historical foundations, emphasizing the prioritization of people, preservation of principles and values, and the constructive development built upon these bedrock elements.

Concluding his remarks, Al-Tuwaiyan attributed Saudi Arabia's standing to divine providence and the Kingdom's leadership, praying for the safety of King Salman and the Crown Prince. The Security and History Dialogue 2026, organized by the Ministry of Interior, delved into nearly three centuries of the Saudi state's security journey and its pivotal role in nurturing stability, development, and prosperity.
