Nepal: China confirms number of dead and missing following floods

The search for missing Durban woman Terricia Govender has now extended to its 12th day, as her distraught mother, Linda Govender, continues to urgently appeal for public assistance to bring her daughter home. Linda shared with the POST that the family has been tirelessly posting missing-person flyers featuring Terricia's image in a desperate attempt to trace her whereabouts.

"Seeing her face displayed is deeply emotional for us," Linda expressed in a Facebook post, emphasizing that each poster symbolizes hope for someone recognizing her or providing vital information.

Linda urgently urged everyone to disseminate these posters as widely as possible, stating that Terricia's image must reach as many people as possible. She emphasized that they are not requesting donations; instead, they seek prayers, positive thoughts, information, and assistance in spreading the word. Linda reiterated their primary goal: to locate her daughter and return her home.

"A mother should be able to search for her daughter without barriers," Linda stated emphatically. "All we want is the opportunity to find Terricia and bring her home."

The family has expressed admiration for Terricia's steadfast belief in positive thinking, which they believe is providing strength during this trying period. Linda recounted, "She believed in putting your thoughts, your energy, and your intentions into the universe." Linda implored everyone to maintain a positive mindset, urging individuals not to entertain worst-case scenarios or allow fear to take hold.

Instead, she encouraged picturing Terricia safe and alive, envisioning her safe return home. "Please keep praying," Linda pleaded. "Please keep sharing. Don’t let Terricia’s face disappear from our feeds."

Linda, along with her brother Nadarajan Govender and Terricia’s friend Sashin Maharaj, recently departed for Nepal with the aim of further investigating the circumstances surrounding Terricia’s disappearance. The search for Terricia, who has been missing since devastating flash floods struck the Tibet-Nepal border last week, continues in its 12th day.
