Mohammad Yousuf says Pakistan cricket crisis began after beating India in 2021

Irfan Pathan quickly took a playful jab at Pakistan following India's resounding victory over their arch-rivals in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 on Saturday. After India hammered Pakistan by seven wickets in their Group A fixture, the former India all-rounder tweeted a four-word message that quickly gained traction on X. Pathan’s post was a reference to a popular social media jab he had made last year, mocking Pakistan after India’s victories in three consecutive T20Is played on Sundays.

The phrase “Aaj Sunday hai kya?” became a recurring taunt aimed at Pakistan. In Saturday’s Women’s Asia Cup clash, India’s spin duo Shree Charani and Prema Rawat were the stars. Pakistan were dismissed for a pitiful 55 in just 18.1 overs, their lowest total in T20 cricket. Charani claimed 3/7 from four overs and Rawat added 3/9 from four overs.

India’s spin attack annihilated Pakistan’s batting lineup after Harmanpreet Kaur decided to bring in her spinners once she realized the pitch was turning. Shafali Verma contributed 1/10 from three overs, and Deepti Sharma sealed the match with 2/5 in 3.1 overs. Initially, Pakistan looked poised, reaching 27 runs off just over four overs without losing a wicket.

However, they collapsed dramatically, losing six wickets for just nine runs to be 36/6 after just 10 overs. Harmanpreet Kaur also made history as the first international captain, male or female, to lead India in 150 T20Is. She displayed a commanding bowling display and then finished the chase herself, hitting the winning six. Despite the loss of key players, India reached the target in just 8.4 overs, further cementing their dominance in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup.

India have now won seven of their eight matches against Pakistan in the tournament’s history, with Pakistan’s sole victory coming once.
