Lee heads to France for state visit, summit with Macron

President Lee Jae Myung embarked on a four-day visit to France on Sunday, culminating in a summit meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. This visit comes in the 140th year of diplomatic relations between the two nations, following Macron's April trip to South Korea. Lee first headed to Nice for the Lumiere Summit on the future of cinema in Saint-Paul-de-Vence before a two-day state visit to Paris.

During his stay, Lee will have a private luncheon with Macron, followed by a summit and a dinner banquet hosted by Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, at the Elysee Palace. He will also attend a business roundtable with 20 companies from both countries in Paris. The visit aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the nations, focusing on cooperation in security, the economy, and people-to-people exchanges.

The summit may also discuss nuclear power plant cooperation and troop deployment to the Strait of Hormuz, according to a presidential official.
