Laubstein, Glasgow propel New Mexico to 38-7 victory over Central Michigan in season opener for both

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — James Laubstein contributed two touchdown runs while Grant Glasgow added three field goals to propel New Mexico to a convincing 38-7 victory over Central Michigan in their season openers. Laubstein demonstrated his prowess by scoring on a 7-yard run during a 15-play drive in the second quarter, extending New Mexico's halftime lead to 20-0.

Glasgow capitalized on kicks from 48 and 46 yards, further solidifying the margin at halftime. Laubstein closed out the scoring with a 3-yard touchdown run on a 79-yard drive early in the fourth quarter, making it 35-0. Luke Moga threw for 116 yards on 13-of-17 passing, and Scott Humphrey contributed with a 7-yard touchdown run.

Central Michigan's lone score came from Nasir Williams' 23-yard touchdown run on their final possession. Moga led six different running backs with 64 of 205 rushing yards for Central Michigan, who finished with 149 total offensive yards.
