KP CM Sohail Afridi says he won't leave Sindh without holding Karachi rally

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi stated on Sunday that he would not leave Sindh without organizing a planned PTI gathering in Karachi, as his convoy progressed towards the city. Accompanied by PTI's provincial President Junaid Akbar, Afridi had been on a five-day public mobilization campaign in Sindh for the party's September 27 nationwide protest demanding the immediate release of Imran Khan and his medical treatment at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad.

Earlier, Afridi confronted party supporters in Tando Allahyar and Hyderabad, alleging that authorities were obstructing his convoy's path. Addressing reporters while heading to Karachi, Afridi reaffirmed his commitment to holding a rally in the provincial capital, stating that he would persist in Sindh until his objective was achieved.

Afridi criticized PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari for the roadblocks along their route, urging him to reveal those responsible. PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh tweeted on Sunday evening that the convoy would "reach Karachi in any way by defying all the hurdles" and that they were present on remote paths in the interior.

Karachi's District East police warned that no public gatherings, rallies, or processions would be permitted near Mazar-i-Quaid, where the PTI had scheduled their rally. Security measures at Mazar-i-Quaid were heightened due to a perceived threat, and several party supporters were reportedly detained for attempting to reach the site.
