Kai Trump begins college career with 78 at Golfweek Fall Classic

Kai Trump made her mark as a college golfer on Sunday, participating in her inaugural tournament at the 2026 Golfweek Fall Classic. The Miami freshman opened her round with a score of 7-over 78 at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawley's Island, South Carolina, placing her tied for 102nd out of the 120 participants. Alongside Miami's Manya Saini and High Point's Rachel Joyce, Trump is one of two individual competitors representing the university.

Trump's collegiate debut took a turn for the better on the 12th hole, where she birdied her way to a score of 3-under. However, a double bogey on the second hole, following some challenges on the par-5 hole, dampened her early momentum. Despite these setbacks, she managed to finish the round in 40 strokes, marking her first collegiate experience on the golf course.

As for the team competition, High Point currently leads with a score of 5-under 66, holding a five-shot advantage over Campbell. In the individual standings, Troy's Manya Saini and High Point's Rachel Joyce are tied for the top spot after both achieved a 5-under 66.
