JDT extend world record unbeaten league run to 112 matches

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta zim (JDT) shattered the world record for the longest unbeaten run in domestic league history, extending their streak to 112 matches after a 3-0 triumph over DPMM FC in a Super League game on Friday. The remarkable milestone was confirmed by Johor's Regent, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who posted an infographic on his official Instagram account.

This record now surpasses the previous mark of 108 consecutive league matches set by Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas during the period between 1989 and 1994. JDT's achievement underscores their impressive development in recent years, encompassing enhancements in management, facilities, infrastructure, and squad building. With a string of 11 out of 13 domestic titles from senior to youth divisions in the 2025 and 2026 seasons, including victories in the Super League, Malaysia Cup, FA Cup, and Charity Cup, JDT II clinching the A1 Semi-Pro League title, and JDT III and IV winning various youth competitions, the Southern Tigers appear poised to extend their record even further.

This unprecedented run makes it increasingly challenging for other teams to challenge their dominance. Recently, JDT has eluded victory only in the Ministry of Education League Under-17 and MSSM Under-18 competitions, both won by Kedah.
