Russian President Vladimir Putin held a three-hour meeting with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Moscow, which did not result in any reported breakthrough regarding a Ukraine peace deal. Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov described the talks as "highly useful," stating they were substantive, constructive, and extremely frank, taking place in a trusting atmosphere.

Ushakov did not disclose the specifics of the ideas proposed by the US envoys, but emphasized that Putin presented Moscow's assessment of the war and stressed Russia's battlefield gains. The discussions also touched upon economic issues and potential major, mutually beneficial Russian-American projects. Despite the positive remarks from both sides, the central disputes remain unresolved, necessitating further US-Kyiv talks to determine if the latest diplomatic push can narrow the gap between Moscow and Kyiv.
