Hana Financial supports low-cost egg supply ahead of Chuseok

Hana Financial Group has partnered with small business support organizations to provide more affordable eggs to supermarkets, aiming to alleviate food price pressures before the Chuseok holiday. The financial institution signed a deal with the Small Enterprise and Marketing Service and the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise on Friday to support lower-priced egg supply.

The initiative, called the Good Egg Project, enlists Hana Financial to collaborate with 20 poultry farms and distribute approximately 120,000 trays containing 60 eggs each to around 4,000 supermarkets across the country. Customers will pay 9,990 won ($7) for a set of two trays, starting from Friday. Hana Financial will fund the project, covering expenses for cleaning, inspecting, sorting, and transporting the eggs to curb distribution costs and maintain low retail prices.

The Small Enterprise and Marketing Service will set guidelines for price labels and oversee the project, while the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise will assist in securing distribution channels.
