Gua Musang police: Six hikers feared missing after entering forest via Lojing and not emerging in Perak

Gua Musang police report six individuals, comprising four family members and two mountain guides, as feared missing after entering a forest area via Pos Dakoh, Lojing, Gua Musang on August 29. The group was scheduled to leave Pos Kemar, Perak by September 3, but failed to do so, prompting a police report from family members in Selangor today.

According to Gua Musang district police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo, initial checks with the Forestry Department indicate the group was last seen in the Perak forest area. The police are currently coordinating with Perak authorities to confirm the hikers' location, noting they had obtained permits to enter the forest and hired the guides.

They have not yet conducted an operation in Kelantan, as the group crossed state borders, but are prepared to act if further developments arise. The police are also investigating the vehicle used by the hikers, including the possibility of rental vehicles or those arranged by the guides.
