Gaza buries the remains of 100 Palestinians, including 62 children

On 6 September 2026, Gaza City witnessed a somber ceremony as hundreds gathered to bury the remains of 100 Palestinians, including 62 children, whose bodies had been salvaged from the rubble of buildings destroyed in Israeli strikes. The victims were primarily from the Malaka, Irahem, Qanbour, Balawi, and Dahdouh families, with 55 members of the Malaka family killed in an Israeli air strike in November 2023.

Due to a lack of heavy equipment, Israeli forces had hindered the recovery process, leaving many bodies trapped beneath the debris. The funeral procession took place outside Imam al-Shafi Mosque, with mourners carrying the bodies to al-Maamadani cemetery, where they were laid to rest in collective graves. Since the beginning of the conflict, at least 73,651 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israeli attacks, with thousands of bodies still entombed beneath the rubble.
