FM Dar discusses regional security, Makkah pact with Saudi, Egyptian, Turkish counterparts

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar engaged in separate telephone discussions with counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkiye. The talks revolved around regional and international happenings, as well as bilateral ties and collaboration under the Makkah Defence Alliance. Both the Saudi and Pakistani ministers explored regional and global developments, matters of mutual concern at international platforms, and plans to further enhance cooperation within the Makkah Defence Alliance. They also agreed to maintain constant communication.

In another call, Dar conversed with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty. They deliberated on Pakistan-Egypt bilateral relations and exchanged perspectives on regional and international happenings. Abdelatty extended an invitation for Dar to visit Egypt at his earliest convenience, aiming to further strengthen ties and remain engaged on security matters.

Both parties expressed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations and engaging in regional security discussions. They also set a meeting agenda for the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session.

Finally, Dar held a conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. He expressed gratitude to Fidan for hosting the inaugural meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement in Istanbul. The ministers reviewed the outcomes of the meeting and explored pathways to advance cooperation under the Makkah Defence Alliance.

They also exchanged insights on regional and global developments, shared concerns of mutual interest, and potential areas to strengthen cooperation at multilateral platforms, reaffirming their intent to remain in close contact.
