Ex-Leicester striker Vardy joins Burnley

Former Leicester City and England striker Jamie Vardy has signed a deal with Burnley until the end of the season. The 39-year-old, who holds Leicester's record Premier League goal tally of 145, previously played for Cremonese in Serie A. Vardy, who left the Italian club in the summer, will join the currently winless Burnley, who sit at the bottom of the Championship. Vardy, who earned 26 caps for England and scored seven goals, began his career at non-league Fleetwood Town before moving to Leicester City in 2012. Burnley, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, have struggled to start their return to the second tier and have not won in their last five matches under new manager Nicky Hayden.
