Egypt and seven key allies condemn Israeli ministers’ Gaza displacement proposals

Eight foreign ministers, representing Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, joined forces to strongly condemn remarks made by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Defense Minister Israel Katz. These officials had proposed plans for the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

The ministers vehemently denounced the suggested measures, labeling them as a clear breach of international humanitarian law and a direct threat to the Palestinian people's inherent, indefeasible rights. In their joint declaration, the diplomats made it abundantly clear that they vehemently reject and deplore any attempts or plans aimed at displacing Palestinians—whether within or outside the occupied Palestinian territory—under any pretense.

The eight nations issued a stern warning that if calls for forced displacement are transformed into formal policies or practical actions intended to uproot Palestinians from their land, severe consequences will follow. They emphasized the measures pose an outright challenge to international peace efforts—particularly President Donald Trump’s comprehensive plan to resolve the Gaza conflict, which unequivocally rejects forced displacement. Lastly, the ministers warned of the significant risk such actions pose to regional stability.
