‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ tells story of Oasis brothers’ comeback

Venice, September 6 - A new film chronicling Oasis's triumphant 2025 world tour premiered in Venice yesterday, offering a glimpse into the tumultuous reunion of the band's Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel. The documentary, titled Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger, details the tense meeting between the estranged brothers for a rehearsal ahead of their Live '25 tour, where Liam's initial objections to the drum setup foreshadow the challenges they would face.

The film, created by Steven Knight, known for works like Peaky Blinders and the upcoming James Bond film, highlights how the brothers' children have become a stabilizing force in their relationship. Knight explained that their shared experiences with their kids helped bridge the gap, as the youngsters quickly formed friendships.

The reunion was warmly received by fans, who gathered outside the Venice Film Festival to greet the brothers from a boat upon their arrival in the Italian city. The film, directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, aims to explain the enduring appeal of Oasis, one of the biggest rock bands of the past three decades, across generations and languages.

Liam and Noel's reconciliation was complemented by the burgeoning connections between their offspring. While the film refrains from discussing contentious issues such as ticket pricing controversies, it delves into Liam's pre-concert nerves, his commitment to staying sober during the tour, and Noel's emotional vulnerability during their debut performance in Cardiff in July 2025.
