'Different guys standing up' — Bjorn Fortuin hails Proteas' depth after T20 tri-series triumph

Proteas T20I captain Bjorn Fortuin expressed his satisfaction with his team's performance after clinching the T20I Tri-Series title on Sunday in Windhoek. Fortuin highlighted that the team had suffered a shock defeat to Namibia in the stadium's inauguration match last year, followed by successive losses in Windhoek. However, after overcoming Namibia in their last group game and defeating Zimbabwe in the final, Fortuin is now optimistic about the team's future.

He appreciated the crowds and the atmosphere in Windhoek, stating, "We love the crowds that come out here, and hopefully we can spend some more time here in the future." Fortuin also praised the depth of the Proteas, noting that different players stepped up at various times during the series. Players like Dewald Brevis, Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Connor Esterhuizen, Jordan Hermann, and rookie seamer Duan Jansen all played crucial roles in the team's success.

Fortuin emphasized that the team does not want to become overly reliant on a few key players, stating, "A very good way to end the series. I think the most pleasing thing was seeing different guys stand up at different times. We saw Jordan do that for the team today, and it's also a team in good stead going into the future."
