Dawson scores 2 rushing TDs to lead Illinois State past Western Illinois 41-10

Victor Dawson led Illinois State to a 41-10 victory over Western Illinois in Saturday's game. Dawson rushed for two touchdowns. Alex Herrera and Stevan Gavric each also caught touchdown passes. The Redbirds, ranked fourth in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25, began the game with a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and maintained a 27-3 halftime advantage.

Each of the Redbirds' first four drives resulted in a touchdown. Dylan Lord contributed 72 yards on five catches and a 37-yard punt return. Chase Kwiatkowski added 76 yards on four carries. Christian Anaya caught four passes for 78 yards for Western Illinois. Cason Carswell completed nine of his 19 passes for 140 yards, while Kennedy McGill was 14-for-22 for 123 yards.

The Redbirds will face Northern Illinois next Saturday, while Western Illinois will travel to Wisconsin.
