Chiefs’ Latest Roster Move to Support Travis Kelce’s TE Room Gives ‘New Opportunity’ to 6-Foot-6 International Talent

The Kansas City Chiefs bolstered their tight end room by signing international talent Thomas Odukoya, utilizing the International Player Pathway Program exemption. Standing at 6-foot-6, Odukoya joins the roster to provide additional depth behind veteran starter Travis Kelce, who enters his 14th NFL season. The Chiefs added Odukoya to their practice squad, expanding it to 17 players under the exemption rules.

Born in Amsterdam, Odukoya began his college football career at Eastern Michigan before joining the NFL via the same pathway with Tennessee. Following the addition, Odukoya expressed his enthusiasm via Instagram stories, stating, "New opportunity! TYG." The move aims to strengthen the Chiefs' coverage in the tight end room while Kelce prepares for another season.

Kelce, who recorded 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns last year, acknowledged areas for improvement, including accountability in the air and leadership on and off the field. As the Chiefs seek to recover from their 6-11 finish in 2025, Odukoya's arrival offers the team another young option to develop, complementing their ongoing roster restructuring around starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
