BAP leader, tribal elder among 11 killed in Balochistan

Quetta witnessed a tragic incident on Sunday night when Abdul Rehman Langove, the district president of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), was gunned down by unidentified assailants. Langove, who was en route home, was killed instantly after being targeted in the Milli Bhutto area of Nushki. The attackers, numbering around eight, fled the scene after opening fire with multiple bullets.

His body was taken to Nushki District Hospital, where senior police officer Abdul Hai Pirkani confirmed the identity of the victim based on hospital doctors' statements. Langove, also a chairman of the Baghak Union Council, was a respected political and social leader.

In a separate incident, six bullet-riddled bodies were discovered in the Mastung area of Balochistan. The bodies, bearing signs of violence, were found near the deputy commissioner's house along the Quetta-Karachi National Highway and in the Datto Mor area. Local residents informed the authorities about the discovery, and a police team transported the bodies to Mastung Civil Hospital for further examination. The identities of the deceased remain unknown, and an investigation is underway.

Further north in Chagai district, a prominent member of the Muhammad Hasni tribe, Malik Karim Dad Muhammad Hasni, was assassinated. The tribal elder was targeted in Chagai Bazaar by armed assailants on motorcycles, who inflicted multiple bullet wounds leading to his death. His body was handed over to his family after completing the necessary medico-legal procedures. The motive behind the murder remains unclear, with no group claiming responsibility.

Additionally, three farm workers in the Jhar area of Duki district were killed by unidentified men, while two others went missing. The assailants opened fire on the workers at a farm owned by Sardar Akbar Khan Nasar, prompting a fierce gunbattle as the workers retaliated. The bodies of the three deceased, identified as Ghani, Agha Jan, and Ezzat Khan, were found near a small hill and subsequently transported to Duki District Hospital.

The missing farm workers, Nadir Khan and Bashir Khan, are Afghan nationals, and a search operation is currently underway to locate them.
