8 Arab and Islamic countries condemn statements by the Israeli Ministers of National Security and Defence regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip

Eight Arab and Islamic nations have strongly condemned remarks made by Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir and Defence Minister Israel Katz. The Foreign Ministers of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, and Türkiye denounced the statements that suggested forcibly removing Palestinians from their homes in the Gaza Strip.

These inflammatory comments violate international law and threaten the rights of Palestinians. The ministers emphasized that any attempts to displace Palestinians, both inside and outside the Occupied Palestinian Territory, are unacceptable. They warned that turning such calls into policy or action would be detrimental to regional stability and undermine the two-State solution.

The ministers stressed that the Gaza Strip is part of the Occupied Palestinian Territory and called for the preservation of its unity with the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. They urged the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to confront any efforts to change the demographic or geographic reality of the territory and to uphold international law.
