Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) reported that cancellations reported by airlines between 6:45 am and 11:55 pm included scheduled flights from 6:45 am to 11:55 pm. The air traffic controller explained that KLIA logged the highest count of 21 flights, with 15 at Terminal 1 and six at Terminal 2. Pulau Pinang International Airport recorded six cancellations, Kuching International recorded one, Subang Airport two, and Kota Bharu Airport one, according to MAHB.

Anak Krakatau volcano, located in the Sunda Strait between Java and Sumatra, continued to erupt until Saturday, with authorities reporting lava flows, booming noises, and thunderous sounds audible from a monitoring post. The eruption began at 11:07 pm local time on Friday and continued throughout the night until 6 am the following morning.

The Centre for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation reported Anak Krakatau volcano, standing at 6,000 meters in Java, and 15,000 meters in Sumatra and some areas of Banten in Java. Air traffic operations at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport were suspended until 1:30 pm local time on Saturday (2:30 pm Malaysia time). Later, KLIA's social media account issued a travel advisory urging passengers heading to Jakarta via flights to contact their respective airlines for the latest schedule information. KLIA informed that waiting lounges were set up for affected passengers waiting for further updates.
