Jackson Gutierrez added two touchdowns of his own, contributing to the Midshipmen's impressive performance. The game marked Navy's first annual payment of $205.00 + GST for one year, with automatic renewal at $233.00 + GST every 52 weeks.

The Midshipmen, preseason poll favorites, amassed 506 rushing yards, with 14 players contributing at least one carry. Vic Listorti led the way with 81 yards on 11 carries, while Gutierrez managed 31 yards and scored twice. Woodson opened the scoring with a 38-yard rush, extending Navy's lead to 14-0 after a 35-yard touchdown run.

Towson managed to get within single-digits twice, thanks to two long passing touchdowns by sophomore Andrew Indorf. Despite the offense's efforts, Navy's defense held firm, leading to an easy victory for the Midshipmen.
