Who is Shardendu Tiwari? 27-year-old Amazon Engineer leaves ₹46 lakh job to join Indian Army

Shardendu Tiwari, a 27-year-old Amazon cloud engineer earning nearly ₹46 lakh annually, has decided to leave his lucrative corporate job to join the Indian Army. After facing eight failed attempts, Tiwari successfully cleared the selection process and was chosen through the Technical Entry Scheme, allowing him to leverage his technical background for a military career.

Originating from Neelmatha, Lucknow, with family roots in Pipergaon, Sultanpur district, Tiwari pursued his education at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Chandimandir, Haryana, and completed his B.Tech and MTech in Information Technology and Computer Science and Information Security, respectively. Influenced by his father's 36-year Army Service Corps career, Tiwari's decision to join the armed forces was strengthened by the Army's opportunities for adventure and field postings.

At the OTA in Gaya, he was appointed as a Senior Under Officer (SUO), one of the senior cadet roles during training. Tiwari also enjoys playing basketball and table tennis. He turned down an offer from aerospace company Airbus and his previous corporate position to join the Indian Army.
