Valakari 'a happy man' after St Johnstone recruitment

Simo Valakari expressed great joy after St Johnstone bolstered their squad with the signings of midfielders Josh Campbell and Joel Cotterill this week. The German forward Danny Schmidt has also joined the team and has secured a work permit, ready to face Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday. However, it is noted that Campbell, being a loan player from Hibs, his parent club, will not participate in the upcoming match.

Valakari, speaking to Saints TV, remarked, "I'm a happy man. I was very happy to secure those two players. I was very content with the squad and players we added." He added that Joel and Josh were on their radar from the beginning of the transfer window, and they were not in a rush. Valakari stated, "I was content with what we had and I knew we would start the season well.

We didn't just need to add numbers. We were in a good position to hold our nerve, focus, and really go for those players we believed would add something to our squad." Valakari expressed his happiness over the signings, describing both players as "great characters and personalities" with footballing qualities that would significantly benefit the team.
