Teenage boy on e-bike dies in hit-and-run in Co Clare

Last night, a teenage boy lost his life in a hit-and-run accident in Co Clare. Around 11pm, emergency services discovered him unresponsive on the roadside on the L3050, near Cottage Cross, close to Clonlara. The boy, in his mid teens, was riding an e-bike when the incident occurred. Disturbingly, another vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene, leaving the tragic scene untouched.

Authorities have taken measures to preserve the area for further investigation by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Traffic diversions are currently in effect in the vicinity. The Coroner has been informed, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death. The Gardaí are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and provide their account.

They are also requesting road users in the Clonlara area, particularly those with dash-cameras, to share any available footage with the investigators.
