Tate brothers charged with further trafficking and sex crimes in Romania

Romanian prosecutors have brought new charges against social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate for further sex crimes and trafficking. The Tate brothers, who have been under investigation in Romania since 2022, are accused of making over $1.2 million through coercing a minor girl into performing sex acts on video chats. Andrew Tate, 39, is charged with trafficking minors, money laundering, and sex with a minor.

Tristan Tate, 38, is accused of complicity in trafficking minors and money laundering. Both deny all allegations and maintain their online personas are not their true selves. The charges are based on allegations that Tristan recruited a vulnerable woman when she was 15 and that Andrew controlled her through surveillance, physical aggression, and coerced her into sexual exploitation.

Prosecutors are seeking to confiscate four of the brothers' luxury cars worth £710,000, believing money was laundered through their purchase. A judge will examine the indictment before any trial can begin.
