Serian tops very unhealthy API readings as six Sarawak areas exceed 200

The haze situation in Sarawak appears to be getting better, as six areas recorded very unhealthy API readings, 25 had unhealthy readings, 26 were moderately affected, and 11 had good air quality. The hazardous API threshold is above 300, while readings between 0-50 indicate good air quality. In Serian, where an emergency was declared yesterday, the API level dropped from an emergency status to 287.

Deputy Premier Douglas Uggah Embas stated that government offices, private companies, and workplaces in the affected area can continue operations but must take health precautions. The emergency management committee is monitoring the haze situation in Sarawak, specifically in Serian, to check for any API level changes that might exceed 500.

This monitoring will take place over the next three days before any recommendation is made to Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Openg and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim regarding the emergency's continuation.
