Saudi citizen stabbed during attempted robbery in London’s Mayfair

A Saudi national was stabbed during a robbery attempt in London's affluent Mayfair district, according to Saudi newspaper Okaz. The assault occurred in the Berkeley Square area around 10.07pm on Thursday, September 3rd. Emergency services and police arrived at the scene, where medics provided initial treatment to the victim before he was transported to a major trauma center.

Although initial reports indicated a serious condition, British authorities later confirmed that the injuries were not life-threatening. Videos shared online depicted a significant police and medical presence, with paramedics treating the injured man prior to his transfer to the hospital. A 58-year-old man was apprehended at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, possession of a bladed weapon, and attempted robbery, subsequently being taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The Saudi Embassy in the UK reported that they were closely monitoring the victim's condition and working with British authorities to ensure his proper care and support throughout the investigation. The embassy urged Saudi citizens residing in Britain to remain vigilant and refrain from carrying or displaying valuable items in public spaces while the case is under investigation.

They also called for enhanced safety measures to protect citizens and visitors in public areas. Simultaneously, Saudi Arabia issued red alerts due to the threat of heavy rain, hail, and flash floods in various regions.
