Royal nostalgia at Miss World 2026: Nikita Porwal wears gown inspired by Princess Diana’s sapphire ring

India's representative at the 75th Anniversary Miss World 2026 pageant, Nikita Porwal, has added a touch of royal nostalgia to her attire for the finale. The gown she wears was inspired by Princess Diana's iconic engagement ring, which she wore during her marriage to Prince Charles. The ring, a large oval blue sapphire surrounded by diamonds and set in white gold, became a symbol of the late Princess of Wales' elegance.

Designer Saisha Shinde drew inspiration from this piece for her Couture Fall 2026 collection, which was subsequently custom-made for Porwal. In contrast to her grand-finale gown, Porwal will not wear the Princess Diana-inspired dress during the final event. The Miss India World 2026 beauty, who hails from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, has been using her platform for a "Beauty With a Purpose" initiative, Project MAATI.

This focuses on providing education, healthcare, nutrition, hygiene, clean drinking water, and economic opportunities to tribal women and children. The finale of the 75th Anniversary Miss World 2026 pageant is scheduled for September 5, 2026, in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
