‘Round‑the‑clock service’: Puspakom plans 24‑hour operations for vehicle inspections

The Puspakom vehicle inspection centre plans to operate 24 hours a day starting in January, according to chief executive Mahmood Razak Bahman. The expansion of operating hours comes after discussions with labor unions, with the aim of offering more reasonable working conditions, ranging from 8 to 10 hours per day and two rest days per week instead of the current 12 hours and one rest day.

To enhance customer convenience, Puspakom is also introducing enhanced on-site inspection services. In addition to the extended operating hours, the agency plans to launch an award for "towering Malaysians" and a new "community hero" recognition award to honor individuals who bring positive change to society or the environment, despite often unrecognized contributions.

These measures are expected to improve Puspakom's operational efficiency and strengthen ties with the local community. This announcement was made following the launch of the inaugural GiCheck Auto Weekend road safety event at AEON Bukit Tinggi, which featured technical demonstrations and an exhibition of advanced driver assistance systems technology.
