PAS muktamar approves motions on Muslim unity, ‘corporate mafia’ RCI

At the PAS Muktamar conference in Kota Bharu, three motions were approved without debate and four were passed after being debated. One of the approved motions focused on strengthening Muslim unity, with the aim of boosting Malay-Islamic politics and promoting the country's well-being. PAS Ulama Council representative Zulqarnain Hassan proposed the motion, emphasizing that unity must be a strategic agenda beyond party and electoral interests, grounded in Islamic principles, mutual understanding, and community interests.

Nasruddin Hassan, a PAS representative, acknowledged past failures in achieving unity but expressed hope for success and called for caution against "troublemakers" and "hidden hands" attempting to undermine the agenda. He also advocated for using social media to foster unity rather than divisiveness. The "corporate mafia" RCI motion, proposed by PAS Youth Council member Nazrul Nazir, calls for an independent investigation into alleged intimidation tactics by former MACC officials.

The motion is based on a Bloomberg report alleging that certain MACC officers were involved in pressuring business executives to sell their shares. However, the former MACC chief commissioner, Azam Baki, dismissed these allegations as baseless. The Muktamar conference saw the submission of 33 proposed motions, with 33 motions being tabled in total.
