In a thrilling opener, seventh-ranked Miami Hurricanes defeated Stanford 45-6 in a game where Darian Mensah made an immediate impact. Mensah, who transferred to Miami from Duke, completed an impressive 27-for-30 outing, throwing for 401 yards and setting school records for both yards and touchdowns in his debut. Malachi Toney, Miami's top receiver, set a school record with 234 receiving yards and scored two touchdowns, including a Heisman pose celebration.
