Moore throws for 3 TDs and No. 2 Oregon overcomes a slow start to beat Boise State 34-27

Dante Moore delivered an impressive performance for Oregon, throwing for 388 yards and three touchdowns in their season opener against Boise State. The Ducks, the #2 team in the nation, overcame a slow start to secure a 34-27 victory. After both teams traded field goals to make the score 27-all in the fourth quarter, Moore showcased his skills with a 62-yard touchdown reception that solidified Oregon's lead with 7:51 remaining in the game.

Oregon's dominance at home is evident, having won 16 consecutive season openers at Autzen Stadium, and they boast a league-leading 39 regular-season home wins against nonconference opponents. Moore made the choice to remain at Oregon following a stellar sophomore season, where he tossed for 3,565 yards and 30 touchdowns, contributing to the Ducks' 13-2 record.

Boise State quarterback Maddux Madsen returned, contributing 181 passing yards and three touchdowns in the opener, despite the Broncos' recent 9-5 season in the Mountain West Conference. The Broncos, who join the resurrected Pac-12 conference this year, suffered a 38-10 loss to Washington in the LA Bowl last season. They began the game as 24.5-point underdogs.

Boise State took the lead early with Madsen's 13-yard touchdown pass to Cam Bates on their opening drive, a 11-play, 75-yard play. Oregon responded with Jordon Davison's 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. With 19 seconds left in the half, Moore connected with Jamari Johnson for a 27-yard touchdown pass, closing the half at 17-14.
