Lanes in Loyang Avenue re-open to traffic after day-long closure to fix pipe leak

On September 4, lanes in Loyang Avenue were reopened to traffic after being closed for a day to fix a water pipe leak. The National Water Agency, PUB, announced urgent repairs to the issue on September 3. PUB informed motorists on Facebook about the closure of two lanes on Loyang Avenue between Pasir Ris Block 149 and Pasir Ris Drive 1, stating that the repair works would be completed by the morning of September 4.

Lanes were expected to reopen at 10.50pm on September 4. PUB thanked motorists and commuters for their patience during the repair works. The update followed PUB's announcement on September 3 that the two lanes were closed to facilitate repairs for the pipe leak, which had been reported around noon that day. Pasir-Ris Changi GRC MP Valerie Lee had posted on Facebook at around 6pm on September 3, alerting motorists to the lane closure and advising them to expect further congestion and delays on the already heavily trafficked road.

The Loyang Avenue exit on the TPE towards PIE remained closed at around 6pm on September 4, as observed by The Straits Times. PUB stated that they were investigating the cause of the pipe leak.
