Keralam ministers return to classroom, take lessons in AI, governance

On Friday, Keralam's 21-member Cabinet, led by Chief Minister V D Satheesan, gathered at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Kozhikode for a two-day "Reimagining Keralam" strategic leadership workshop. The session aimed to equip the ministers with modern tools of governance and policy formulation, with a focus on making the state's development journey more "people-centered, sustainable, knowledge-driven, and technology-enabled."

During the workshop, the ministers listened to lectures from management experts and participated in interactive discussions on topics like transformational leadership, community-level climate resilience, disaster management, and structural fiscal renewals. Tourism Minister P C Vishnunadh highlighted the importance of hearing people's opinions before framing policies, while State Minister Bindu Krishna praised the engaging sessions and emphasized the need to incorporate new tools like Artificial Intelligence (AI) in governance.

Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty noted that this was the second such program he had attended, and both ministers expressed excitement about learning management skills and exploring the use of AI and advanced technology in governance.
