Iran has accused the United States of launching an attack on one of its oil tankers near Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf, according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting. The incident reportedly involved four U.S. missiles being fired at the vessel, located approximately six miles from Kharg Island, with no reported casualties among the crew members.
However, the U.S. has yet to comment on the matter. Kharg Island, Iran's primary oil export terminal and a crucial hub for crude shipments, has been a recurrent target in the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict, including in March when the U.S. carried out strikes on military sites there. The latest allegations emerged following the U.S.'s resumption of strikes on Iranian targets after a month-long hiatus, as tensions in the Strait of Hormuz have escalated.
